Tools Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ScoutDNS free online tools, including but not limited to the Domain Dependency Mapper ("Tools"). By using any of our Tools, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our Tools, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Tools.
2. Description of Tools
ScoutDNS provides free online tools for educational, research, and legitimate security purposes. These Tools may analyze websites, DNS records, and other publicly available information. The Tools are provided free of charge and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our Tools only for lawful purposes. You must NOT use our Tools to:
- Scan or analyze websites without proper authorization when required by law
- Conduct any illegal, abusive, or malicious activities
- Harass, stalk, or threaten any individual or organization
- Gather information for purposes of competitive intelligence in bad faith
- Attempt to exploit vulnerabilities discovered through our Tools
- Circumvent rate limits or access controls
- Automate access to our Tools without express written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt our services or infrastructure
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
4. Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your use of the Tools and any actions you take based on information obtained through them. You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to scan or analyze any websites or domains you submit to our Tools.
5. No Warranty
THE TOOLS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. SCOUTDNS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Tools will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information provided by the Tools.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCOUTDNS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE TOOLS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities
- Business interruption or downtime
- Damage to reputation or goodwill
- Any actions taken based on Tool results
- Security incidents or breaches
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100 USD).
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ScoutDNS and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to:
- Your use of the Tools
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of any third party
- Any claim that your use of the Tools caused damage to a third party
8. Data and Privacy
We may collect and store information about your use of the Tools, including URLs submitted, IP addresses, and usage patterns. This information may be used to improve our services, enforce rate limits, and prevent abuse. Please review our Privacy Policy for more information.
9. Rate Limits and Access
We reserve the right to impose rate limits and restrict access to the Tools at our sole discretion. Abuse of the Tools may result in temporary or permanent blocking of your access.
